Pakistan’s Missile Program: A Threat to Regional Peace or Security Risk To World?
Pakistan is in deep trouble because of the recent influx of sanctions. Pakistan sees this move as “Biased” and a threat to regional peace. It comes against the backdrop of the continuous proliferation of ballistic missile programs and weapons enlargement. America further stated Pakistan is building weapons that could attack American soil and be used against it anytime. It is posing a potential threat to the region and destroying hard-earned peace. Furthermore, America asked Pakistan to halt the supply of military weapons from China and abstain from further production of banned weapons. However, Pakistan replied to these claims as baseless and said Washington is discontent over the growing closer ties between Pakistan and China marking it as the core of the sanctions.
Why is America anxious about Pakistan?
America showed apprehension because nuclear missiles and military weapons could come into the grips of the banned outfits and terrorists entities anytime and it can create great turmoil in the region and it would be impossible for the world to stop them. Despite that still Pakistan is working on to develop long-range ballistic missiles that have the potential to strike far beyond South Asia and to the United States. Hence, keeping these things in order America imposed sanctions on 4 entities of Pakistan including airspace companies and defense producing companies. Such culture is not new the previous government of Biden also imposed sanctions on Pakistan six to seven times for breaching world agreements and non-proliferation treaties.
The foreign ministry of Pakistan called these accusations and sanctions “baseless” and lacking in any evidence whatsoever. She further exclaimed, ” The USA is becoming discriminatory and disregarding India’s growing interest in developing advanced missile programs and their silence over it will be questioned”. USA ministers in conferences candidly calling Pakistan’s ballistic missiles programs as emerging threats to the world. ” Pakistan has developed weapons which give them access to strike far beyond Asia and even the USA,” the Finer said.
